Every relationship has its ups and downs - but you can usually work through your issues with patience and understanding. However, one 19-year-old claims her boyfriend has taken "weird" to a whole new level after she discovered he has been 'cheating' on her with a robot.
She describes her 21-year-old boyfriend as a "sweet, caring and loyal" person - and saystheir relationship looks perfect on the surface. However, she recently found out he has been having an emotional affair with an AI chatbot he programmed to be just like her. She said on Reddit: "I’ve always appreciated how thoughtful he is and how much effort he puts into us.
"But yesterday I found out he’s been using all of our conversations to train his own personal AI chatbot based on me.

"He calls it Aylene AI (my name is Aylene) and it literally talks like me. I tested it and it feels creepy how similar it is to my personality.
"What hurts even more is I discovered he spends about four hours a day talking to this AI instead of me, even though I’m almost always available to chat and usually talk with him for at least 30 minutes a day.
"It feels like he made a 'perfect version' of me that he can talk to when I’m not around, or maybe even when I am."
Not only that, but she has noticed he has been acting "extra kind" over the last six months and has been avoiding conflict completely.
She added: "He always admits fault right away and says really sweet things to me. I thought he was just growing as a partner, but now I’m worried he’s only doing it to get 'better' responses from me so his AI can be trained to be the perfect girlfriend.
"I feel really hurt and confused. Is this emotional cheating? Is he replacing me with my AI copy?
"I don’t even know how to bring this up without it blowing up. Has anyone experienced anything like this or have advice on how to handle it?"
Commenting on her post, one user said: "You break up. This is abnormal and he probably needs a psychiatrist to unravel whatever the hell's wrong with him.
"But this isn't a good battle for you to fight. You break up, this is too f***ed up and weird to deal with."
Another user added: "I would be worried less about whether it’s 'emotional cheating' than I would about whether he has some sort of behavioural or possibly psychological problem.
"Needless to say, your relationship is far from 'perfect'. You could bring it up with him, and ask him to help you understand what it is that he finds appealing about a computerised replacement for you.
"I’m not sure that you’re going to get a satisfactory response, however."
A third user said: "Sorry, but am I the only one who finds these modern 'problems' delusional? It sounds like something out of a Simpsons script: 'My boyfriend replaced me with a robot'."
